This resignation letter lets an employer know that your side hustle or freelance work has taken off, and you are resigning to focus on that venture.
First, I’d like to thank you for your ongoing support as I pursued my “side hustle” outside of business hours. As much as I enjoy my work at XYZ Company, I’ve found that my true passion lies with the small business I’ve managed to build thanks to your flexibility.
All this is to say that I’m going to resign from XYZ. I’d like to transition out within the coming month or so, and I want to make my departure have as little impact as possible on the firm. I’d be happy, for example, to help in the recruitment process and/or train my replacement.
Again, I can’t thank you enough for your encouragement. I am so excited to soon be focusing full-time on my new pursuit.
