This resignation letter is ideal for someone who has become so famous that their notoriety is impacting their employer or company in a negative or distracting manner.
I feel like I should apologize. I never expected to go viral, and I certainly never expected to become so famous that I would draw unwanted attention to XYZ Company.
I realize now that I must resign, not just for the good of the company, but for my own safety and that of my family. I will clear out my desk today.
