I’ve been documenting instances of disrespect by company leadership over the past year, and what has gone on in recent weeks is beyond the pale. Half of my office was appropriated for storage space, my desk was discarded so that I would be forced to sit behind the service counter, and then an email went out to the entire company blaming me for disorganization in the department.
Never in my career have I been treated thusly. At first, I foolishly thought it was an issue of communication that could be resolved with meetings and collaboration. I now see that management has some undefinable, unreasonable beef with either me personally or my philosophy toward maintaining a Widget Department.
I have secured a position elsewhere, at a much higher rate of compensation. It’s unfortunate that things didn’t work out at XYZ Company, as I’m confident that if my initiatives had been implemented, we would see a tenfold return in sales.
