Dear Mr./Ms. Bossname,
When I was hired at XYZ Company years ago, I had not yet thought of expanding my family. However, I now very much want to have a baby. Upon reviewing my insurance coverage, I was disheartened to learn that XYZ falls under a federal law loophole due to company size and has opted not to cover pregnancy.
I have already secured a job at competing firm ABC Company, where I will enjoy full benefits, including maternity care. My resignation is effective in two weeks’ time.
While my decision to move on has already been made, I urge you to reconsider your position on insurance policy coverage before you lose more decent, dedicated workers.
I will be in touch with HR regarding my exit.
