Dear Mr./Ms. Bossname,
I am resigning, with two weeks’ notice.
The company’s move toward hybrid and ultimately remote work is not acceptable to me.
While I understand that the company will see a savings in office space and related overhead, collaboration and productivity will be negatively affected. Already, I’ve noticed a drop in engagement with others on my team who are distracted by obligations at home.
This industry, or perhaps my working style, does not lend itself to remote or even hybrid work. Technology is no substitute for face-to-face meetings, given the type of projects we handle. Also, as a manager, I cannot enforce a policy I don’t believe in.
I have already accepted a position with a company with a philosophy that the best work is done when everyone is together in the office.
I have enjoyed my time at the company and wish you and my colleagues the best with the new remote-work setup.
